Well, it has been a wonderful weekend. Friday night we went to the Natureworks’ Art Show and Sale. We think this is roughly the 30th year or so that we have been. We always see people that we never get to see in our everyday life! Besides old friends, we also got to see one of our favorite artist, Matthew Higginbotham. You can see his work here. We are fortunate to own two of his pieces and wish we had room for more! If we did, I might have to go for this one!
Natureworks is a great organization and can be found here. Annually, the NatureWorks Monuments Program has made it possible for NatureWorks to donate a heroic-sized, realistic bronze wildlife monument to the City of Tulsa. This is such a great program and more information can be found here. Below is the one that is featured for this year:
Moving along, we went to Fayetteville. Along with great food all over town, we spent time with Mary Jean and Ray. We ate at the new Fayetteville location of Table Mesa. It is a stone’s thrown (remember, I am a geologist) from the house. We went to see Shawn Colvin and Mary Chapin Carpenter in concert at the Walton Arts Center. We sat in the 3rd row and it was just a great show. Shawn Colvin cracked us up and the music was excellent. Here is the link for the tour and dates. Check out the concert if they come to your town.
Tomorrow is a full day of picking out tile, cabinets, lights, fans and a fireplace for the house! Whew, we are going to be whipped by the time we get all that accomplished. Hopefully, next time we come over, the house will look a little further along. Here are the latest pictures:
Well, that is all I have for today. Wish us luck tomorrow and check back soon to see some of our choices! Hopefully, the windows will be delivered soon.
I always enjoy comments, so leave one! Please, pretty please!

The house is looking good! Are you going to keep the original hardwoods?
Yep!
Good luck on your shopping day! I hope it’s lots of fun.
It was daunting and successful!
Is the picture over your mantel a Matthew Higginbotham?
Yep!
House is coming along nicely! I had no idea you were doing as much work as the photos suggest. I’m looking forward to seeing some of the items you all picked out with the contractor. I’m betting that back room is going to be awesome too!
Also I hope your retirement is off to an auspicious start!
The funny thing is that I did not know we were going to do so much work!
So far, so good on retirement. 🙂
